New York, AAP - Sam Stosur and Lisa Raymond have beaten Katarina Srebotnik and Ai Sugiyama 7-5 6-1 to advance to the US Open women's doubles final today.
The 2005 US Open champions are yet to drop a set in the tournament and will face either the fifth seeded team of Anabel Medina-Garrigues and Virginia Ruano Pascual or the top seeded pair of Cara Black and Liezel Huber in the final.
A win at Flushing Meadows would cap a remarkable comeback for Stosur after she became ill and missed eight months of tennis with Lyme Disease following last year's US Open.
Raymond and Stosur are gradually progressing towards reclaiming their world No.1 doubles crown after reaching the third round at this year's French Open and finishing runners-up to the Williams sisters at Wimbledon.
