Sam started the match in a flurry, racing out to a 6-1 lead in around 23 minutes. She again got off to a great start in the second, breaking Medina Garrigues for a 2-0 lead. She didn’t have it all her way though, as her opponent stepped up her play to break back and levelled at 2-2. Games continued on serve until 5-5 when Sam broke and then served out the match at 6-5. Sam’s next opponent is  Aleksandra Wozniak

    Another solid win . . . .

Playing a lot better than back in July, so a great chance of avenging the two losses to Wozniak at the Bank of the West.

Great work Sammy!! Good luck in the Quarters . . . . you can do it!!

Well done Sam! This tournament has your name wrote all over it. I’ve asked this a few times now… where to for Sam after here? Are Sam and Lisa finished with doubles for the rest of the season?

  • tommy

raysur have still got a v good chance of qualifying for doha, (prov they play a couple more tourneys) theres a bit of a battle between the top 8, and with the bondos going out early this wk and sugibotnik pairing being a touch injured, its not looking bad.
Next up should be zurich n linz, YAY europe-roll on my time zone :)

Alright, Wozniak’s really becoming annoying now.

Still a good result this week, and a very good Fall season in Asia.

Well done Sammy!! Good luck over in Europe!!

  • Shawn

You got to give it to Wozniak though, I think she played very well to comeback like that in the first set.

Best of luck in Europe Samantha :D
