Singles campaign over in Zurich

It may have been the cool Swiss air, the indoor court, la crise financière or perhaps simply a spirited opponent, but Sam has unfortunately lost her first round qualifying match in Zurich. She was beaten 4-6 6-2 7-6 by Pauline Parmentier on Saturday . Her attention will now turn to doubles, where she is attempting to gain enough ranking points in order for her and Lisa Raymond to gain entry to the season ending championships in Doha.
