Sam and Rennae unfortunately were defeated in the semi finals of the Dubai Tennis Championsips. They lost a hard fought match 6-4 6-4 against top seeds Huber and Black. Sam will now head over to the United States to compete in California. Some people may have seen latest video with Sam and Rennae at the Dubai water park on the WTA Tour website. The commentary may have led some to think that Sam is now being coached by Layne Beachley. Although Layne was helping Sam out this week with the mental side of things, the comments were referring more to Layne as Sam's and Rennae's coach while trying out bodyboarding in the wave pool! :) See the video HERE

    Well Done Sam! Franscesca is a tough opponent, even though she hasn't been playing brilliantly this year. I'm sure you had a lot of fun out on court. Next up Agnieszka...She hasn't been playing very well this year, lost first round of the Aussie Open, second round Monterry (I think) so it's a great chance for you to get another top 10 win under your belt to boosy your confidence! We all believe in you Sam!

    Not only Wozniak but Safarova is there also there for a potential 3rd round

    I think Sammy could make the quarters here if she plays some good tennis.

    1R Schiavone: Hasn't played to well this year and is getting on a bit. Winnable match for Sam but still has to play well to get through
    2R Radwanksa: Struggling pretty badly all year so far. Sickness and bad form has left her with some shock losses. Very winnable match for Sammy.
    3R Safarova/Wozniak: Pretty inconsistent players, both to haven't been playing very well lately. Sam has lot to them though so here is hoping for some revenge!
    4R Cornet: Most probably her opponent, not exactly a hard court specialist but still dangerous. If Sam plays her best it is a winnable match.

    So yeah, if Sammy can get her head into gear (no mental lapses!) then I see no reason why she can't make it deep into the draw. One match at a time though :) Good luck Sam!

    indian wells draw is out and Sammy plays Schiavone if she wins that A.Radwanska is next

    Fairly tough draw for Sam at Indian Wells . . . Schiavone in the 1st Round, then Aggie Radwanska in Round 2. And that Wozniak person from Canada is nearby also; she always seems to play her best against Sam for some reason.

    But no reason Sam can't take any of these guys out.

    Sam at #41 in Singles now, #8 in Doubles.

    LOL, anyone wanna go see the roof fail at wimby, may 17th i think. will be raining. no doubt in my mind. tickets are a rip off as ever. 35 quid to get rained on and watch tim, who i hoped we'd seen the end of.

    yeah its a bit odd about n/a weds tickets as obv they would be handier, since sunday claims its full. altho apparently u can queue wk b4. mecure is cheaper than the rad, but the rad has better location and free wifi!
