My break is over and Dave and I had our first hit after a couple of days off. It was good to not pick up a racquet and enjoy the sights and sounds of the Aussie Open. This would have to be my favourite Grand Slam – there is nothing like playing at home and I love that Australia Day is always during the Aussie Open.
I finally had a look at the Flinders Street train station where ANZ has put my face everywhere. It was very weird walking through and seeing myself on every banner and poster.
Well the Williams sisters have taken out the first Grand Slam doubles title for the year. I spoke to Nadia Petrova (my doubles partner) and we are looking forward to better success at our next tournament in Dubai.
I’m now back on the Gold Coast enjoying some family time and preparing for the Fed Cup, which is in Adelaide. I’m training with young Aussie Shannon Golds as Dave has returned to his home in Sydney.
I’m looking forward to watching the men’s semifinal tonight, I’m predicting Federer to make another Grand Slam final. What a final it could be against Murray.
Bye for now,
