The women's part of the Australian open came to a close last night with a tough three-set battle. It was over two hours long and had some great points. Serena was a deserving winner but Justine has put in an incredible effort reaching two finals in her first two events back.
I’m heading to Adelaide on Monday, which is a little earlier than some of my teammates. The reason is that I’m the ambassador for the National Court Rebate Program and I’m officially opening the new courts in Port Lincoln, which is on the Eyre Peninsula in South Australia.
Port Lincoln is famous for its tuna industry and they have asked me to swim with the tuna. Sounds a little scary to me but I’m always up for a challenge!
I’ll return to Adelaide by Tuesday afternoon and will have to get straight back into practice mode for the upcoming tie against Spain. We play the matches on Saturday and Sunday afternoon.
It is going to be tough as they have three players all inside the top 30 and one of the top doubles combinations on tour as well. I always enjoy our weeks at Fed Cup throughout the year and I'm sure this will be no exception.
Bye for now,
